Nestled in the Cascade Mountains. Alpental is one little known secret. Steep runs and deep snow beckon for skiers and boarders alike. Lodge could use some updating (namely catering and bathrooms), but why stay in the lodge when there is acres upon acres of untracked snow out the window. Most of the runs are geared toward the advanced riders, but if you want easy beginner terrain you should head over to some of the othe Summit at Snoqualmie areas. Few marked runs are overly exceptional, but finding good turns isn't hard once you're off the beaten path. A lot of locals come and ski the entire day. At night, it isn't common for the bar to have more occupants than the lift line (next to nothing).
